Fearless Change Campfire (virtual)

Photo by Kevin Erdvig on Unsplash

A collection of stories with lessons about change

If you are interested in change leadership and would like to hear from people like you, then this fun event is for you!

2024 campfire was on November 8 and it was a great success

What happens at a Fearless Change Campfire?

  • Hear stories from people who have led change and get the opportunity to discuss their successes, failures, and plans for moving forward
  • Share your own challenges and get ideas for actions to address them
  • Hang out with the authors of Fearless Change and others who have used the Fearless Change patterns
  • Learn…. because we’re all in this together!

I appreciated  not only the experimentation with the event, but also making it so accessible and welcoming. More of this!

- 2022 Campfire attendee

We invite everyone who is interested in change/transformation to learn from the stories and conversations during a virtual Fearless Change Campfire. If you are a novice or expert, we invite you to attend, learn, and have fun!

What Campfires Did For Us

The control of fire and the building of a campfire brought multiple changes to human culture. Its impact might be more impactful than we realize and, of course, provided a chance to introduce some new patterns :-)!

Are Our Assumptions Wrong?

Picture this: Your executives initiate a digital transformation, investing millions in cutting-edge technology, restructuring teams, and streamlining operations. Yet, a few years later, many of these changes are reversed. Have you ever wondered why this happens? Is it because the top executives ignore what's good for the business, or is it that our approach to change is built on faulty assumptions? In this story, we’ll challenge those assumptions and explore why sustainable transformation requires a fresh perspective.

Make Safety a Prerequisite
In 1987, Alcoa was a one-hundred-year-old industrial giant, struggling with stiff competition, quality problems, outdated processes, and a near-total lack of innovation. Several CEOs had tried to turn the business around, but nothing had worked to rescue the company from a multi-decade slump. The board finally asked Mr. O’Neill to step in. What happened next provides a masterclass in how to make deep, meaningful change across an entire world-wide organization.
